Europes’s largest wind farm to be installed in Sweden.
It is overwhelming to know that at least some place on the face of this earth is untouched from the concrete jungles. Sweden has 500 square kilometers of nearly-uninhabited land that can be used to generate clean energy. Swedish company Svevind has plans to give Europe its largest wind farm. Dubbed the “Markbygden wind farm”, the project will 1,101 wind turbines erected in the area.
The new wind farm will produce power equivalent to energy required to power two nuclear reactors. The company aims to complete the project by 2020. The wind farm is likely to get many job opportunities for the people from the neighboring villages. Svevind claims the new farm will also benefit the region’s paper, metals, and forestry industry, which aim to lower their carbon footprints by the year 2020.
