WHAT YOU MAY NOT KNOW OUR SMALL ECO-ENCYCLOPEDIA
In our “What You Don’t Know - But You Should Know - And You Really Want To Know” section, we help you navigate through your house and suggest little eco-initiatives that would make Leo want to stop by for a visit. (DiCaprio that is...)
GREEN EKO HOME
To start – Size DOES matter! You don’t have to live in a tiny box, but it’s important to think about how much space you really need. More space means more heating and lighting which equals additional energy consumption. Invest in heat. Design an energy-saving house, insulated, with heat blowers and ideally solar panels and/or a windmill. It is true – it does cost a lot more. However, you will quickly save almost 90% in your utility bills.
YOUR ROOM
Let’s be honest- you spend a lot of time in your bedroom and office every day, so it’s only fair that you make this place eco friendly. Try to save energy by investing in energy efficient equipment, by turning the lights off and not leaving electronics on stand-by.
SHOPPING
You are the consumer and you have all the power! Whether you're an eco-friendly newbie or an old-school tree hugger, the recent explosion of earth-conscious products means it's easier than ever to make a difference in your home. Choose products in recycled packaging, and if possible – buy things without any packaging. And don’t you even dare play “paper or plastic”game, bring your own bags or I will personally chase you down the aisle!!!
YOUR OFFICE
We spend most of our day at work and school. And, in most cases, that involves lots of paper and numerous electronic appliances. You might be making an effort to go green at home but don’t forget about your office.
KITCHEN
You will have even greater satisfaction from cooking when you will take care of your stomach and of nature as well! Change your eating habits for healthier ones, and cooking for more eco ones!
BATHROOM
The bathroom is a huge opportunity for a change of habits. Save water, paper, and also use the right cosmetics!!
